Living Joyously Now

Are you afraid your best years are behind you?

When my husband died suddenly in 2017, that question haunted me for months and months. I've since learned what that voice really is. It isn't the truth about your age. It's an old identity, forged in your hardest seasons, still insisting it's you. I'm Kristin, and I built Radiantly Alive Women for the woman who's ready to discover how alive she still is.

The same part of you that keeps you safe is the one wearing you out. There are five Protectors. Find out which one is yours.

If any of this is you

Somewhere in here, you'll find yourself.

You built a life that looks, from the outside, like it worked.

The role that defined you has changed shape. A marriage ended, or the house went quiet, or the title came off, and no one handed you the next one.

You were told, in words or in silence, that you'd been replaced by someone younger, and a part of you believed it.

You feel your own aliveness thinning, and you've started to wonder if this is simply what getting older feels like.

You're tired in a way that sleep doesn't touch.

Underneath all the competence, an old voice still says you're finished, or too much, or not enough.

If you recognized yourself even once, you're in the right place. Not because something in you is broken, but because something in you is still lit, and it's asking for you back.

The work

The meeting place of your inner life and your body.

Most approaches treat these as two separate worlds. The inner work over here, the aging body over there. I work them as one responsive system. When you come into alignment with your own aliveness, what I call the Living Flame, the body listens and begins to follow. The aging default loosens its grip, not by being fought, but by being outgrown.

Three shifts

And the biology follows.

i

Doubt to trust

The doubt operating system gets installed in childhood and fires the moment life feels unsolvable. We meet it at the source, not at the symptom.

ii

Fear to love

The body reads fear as a threat and quietly ages to match it. Love is a different instruction entirely, and the body hears that one too.

iii

Disconnection to connection

Coming home to yourself is where vitality returns. Slowly, the woman in the mirror starts to match how alive you feel inside.

The promise isn't that you'll become whole. It's that you'll find the access point to a wholeness you already belong to.

The lighthouse

I'm Kristin.

I've spent nearly five decades engaged with the science of how people change, beginning in a graduate-level behavior-genetics lab in college. I hold a master's in social work and a degree in psychology, I've studied HeartMath's science of heart coherence, and I became a certified spiritual facilitator in 2009 and a feminine power coach in 2010.

I'm 69, in the third act myself, so I write from inside this experience and not from above it. I'm the founder of the Radiantly Alive Women community and the author of the forthcoming book, Radiantly Alive.

I've spent my life tending the light for women finding their way home to themselves. I'm holding the beam steady.

"After years of fatigue, aliveness had almost stopped feeling like a real category for me. Kristin's flame-tending practice gave it back. I can feel it in my body, in real time."

M., 60s

"I've had coaching before. That was cool, that was great, okay, next. But there's something about being with you where a different thing occurs, and it's transformative. Not just lasting. Transformative."

J., 60s
The pattern has a name

Your Protector is wearing you out.

The pattern that dims a woman's flame takes five recognizable shapes. I call them the Protectors: the Perfectionist, the Controller, the Pleaser, the Vanisher, and the Achiever. Each one is a part of you that once kept you safe, and she has been working the night shift ever since. She never takes a day off. That is the tiredness you cannot sleep away. Protection is not free: it bills you in energy, in aliveness, in how much of you your people actually get. She is not a flaw, and she is not an enemy. She is a part that loved you clumsily, and she is still on duty because no one ever told her the danger has passed. Meeting yours by name, gently, is how you begin to relieve her of the job.

The daily practice

Five minutes before the world asks anything of you.

Meeting your Protector is the beginning. Teaching your body a new way to start the day is how the change takes root. A Week of Radiant Resets is seven morning mini-resets, one for each day: three slow breaths, a hand over your heart, five minutes or less. No cushion, no experience, nothing to get right. They are small on purpose. A nervous system doesn't change by being lectured; it changes by being shown, gently, morning after morning, that it is safe to open. That is what these do.

Where to begin

Start small. The rest unfolds.

If you read one thing

The weekly letter

Every week I write to women who are done with the surface. Real stories, the science of aliveness, and faith and consciousness held in the same hand. It's free, it's where the whole relationship begins, and it's the thing I'd start with if I were you.
